I noticed that the forwarding from www.rieselprime.org to www.rieselprime.de no longer works. Some of the posts throughout the project referred to .org and some to .de. I think I have found and corrected them all to the .de prefix. If you find any other dead links, please let me know.
Be sure and change your bookmarks or favorites if necessary. Gary Last fiddled with by gd_barnes on 2009-10-02 at 09:02 |

I will be away on vacation from early on the 15th to late on the 22nd. Hopefully I'll be able to get on the forum and keep up with things, since I should have internet access at all my stops, but nonetheless I can't promise anything. At any rate, I hope to be able to keep up with the forums and my email, but I won't be able to post files or anything like that. If the GB servers have an emergency and I need to do anything with them I might be able to get on, but it would be a bit of a pain.
![]() As usual, I expect all of my cores to continue crunching while I'm gone. Hopefully when I return I'll be pleasantly surprised to find a few CRUS bases knocked out. ![]() If anyone needs to reach me while I'm away, email is your best bet. Drop me a line at max@noprimeleftbehind.net and I'll get it next time I check it (which I'm hoping will average at least once a day). |

Hi all,
Heading out for my trip just now. As detailed in other threads, it looks to me like the little scare about the servers just now is just due to a simple IP address change and is nothing to worry about. I now leave you with everything (hopefully) working right. ![]() Hope everything goes smoothly, and may I be immensely surprised when I come back by the number and magnitude of the primes you guys find! ![]() Max

In an effort to make NPLB a little more friendly towards people with non-connected machines, I've once again posted manual files on the 5th, 6th, 7th, and 11th drives. A little later on, I'll post one for the 10th drive.
We had gotten away from automatically posted manual files on our main drives due to their lack of popularity and the admin effort involved so we are trying something different this time around. They are now posted "CRUS style". At Conjectures R Us, on 2 of the popular drives, we found it helpful to post one larger file that people could cut smaller individual reservation ranges out of. This gave searchers more flexibility in the ranges that they reserved plus saved on admin time. See the bolded guidelines for reserving them in the 1st post of each drive. If you have some non-connected machines and would like to try some manual files as a change of pace, come check it out and reserve whatever size file you would like. ![]() Gary Last fiddled with by gd_barnes on 2009-10-20 at 13:59 |

Well, I am now officially back from my trip.
Other than the fact that I ended up not being able to get on the forum or any other such prime-searching stuff at all, it was a very nice week. ![]() I was quite relieved to find that nothing had gone majorly wrong in my absence, except for some strange blowings-up with the G1300 PRPnet server which I still haven't read about in detail. As I said over there, I'll look into that later tonight or (probably) tomorrow. One unfortunate thing, however, is that none of my machines got any work done while I was away. My quad, for those of you who don't know this already, isn't actually owned by me but by someone else in my immediate family for whom I built it. As such, it was turned off (after all, why run a whole computer when nobody's home ), much to my chagrin, though I didn't get the chance to do anything about it. Oh well, I figured, at least I've still got my own dualcore running. But then, as it turns out, a power outage struck while I was away and killed that as well. So, not much got done except about a day's worth of work on CRUS Sierpinski base 206 (which, BTW, turned up a prime to be reported later when I catch up with other stuff). Oh well--the prime surely makes up for all that. ![]() It was a nice trip, but it's definitely good to be back!

The individual k drive for k=300-400 is now complete to n=1M. The thread has now been unstickied.
If you have a few spare cores, we are now asking for assistance with sieving this k-range for n=1M-2M. See the related sieving drive. The thread has now been stickied. Last fiddled with by gd_barnes on 2009-12-30 at 05:12 |

The LLRnet and PRPnet servers were stopped, the machine rebooted, and the servers restarted in order to apply security updates and resolve a problem with remote access.
You might check your clients to make sure they all reconnected OK. |
