Wait a minute...you said IE 3.6 and 3.7? Do those even render pages correctly, considering their age? I'm guessing you meant to say IE 6 and IE 7--IE 3 is more than 10 years old, probably Windows 95-era.

I guess that's just what IE does, then--no matter how many times I click stop, the emoticons still keep on moving on my post composition page. However, if I highlight all the emoticons, right click on them, and choose "remove selection", then they all just go away quick and easily, thanks to the Nuke Anything extension I mentioned earlier.

I wonder if there's an extension out there that lets you add a simple button to the toolbar in Firefox that will halt the motion of animated GIF's, like the stop button does in IE?

It's called the escape button...in FF press Esc and all animated pics will stop.

Try it on him.

Hum, didn't know escape worked but it does. Hitting either stop or escape works for both I.E. 6 and 7 on my home and work machines.
