"failed to launch help" message

Just installed v25.5 and get this message when trying to open the "help topics".

I get the same message when starting Prime95 as a 'service' or by windows explorer. I searched this forum and see that this has been discussed before but found no solution.

With v24.14 there was a help/readme file in the unzipped folder that you coul 'read'

v25.5 does not have this file?

Because I cannot get to any help info I am having great difficulty in setting memory limits.
I have 2 gigs of memory and a dual core processor. What is the optimal memory setting?

Version 25.x is George's first attempt to create a multi-threaded version of Prime95 so that multiple CPU cores can work on the same number and finish it sooner. The most current 25.x version, 25.6, probably doesn't have a help file either as all of the 25.x versions are "still a work in progress". Check the 25.5 and 25.6 threads in the PrimeNet section for comments about memory usage, memory problems, FSB usage, etc.
As for your second question, IMO, use the 24.14 memory settings. They may not be optimal but should work well.

I went back to 24.14 for my daily work. George said in an earlier message that 25.x is not intended for daily work

I'm getting this message with version 25.9. I would think there'd be a .chm file in the download or something... no dice.

Try the 25.11 download. It should have all of the files.

It seems that George has not included updated help file. The text files are included.

I tried to attach the latest .chm that I have (v22), but the file is too large to attach.

Maybe someone with higher powers can hlep out.
