Default k=443

I continue to test k=443 for base 2, which covers this base 16. LLR is just under 1.1M (270k or so base 16), with a sieve in progress to 5M (1.25M base 16). The sieve will be running quite a few months before LLR continues above 1100k, so expect no meaningful progress until summer.

Congrats. Have you submitted the prime to the Top 5000 site yet? Instructions are available here: http://www.mersenneforum.org/showthread.php?t=9782

I see you're testing your range with Prime95; while this is the same as LLR speed-wise, we generally prefer that people use LLR for power-of-2 bases since it does a deterministic LLR test that doesn't need to be proven separately, and its residuals are not compatible with those from PRP tests like Prime95 does. While it's not too terribly big a deal in this case (not enough to bother re-doing the range), we'll need to make a special note of this for future doublechecking so that we don't run into problems matching up the residuals.

Anyway, just wanted to give you a heads-up for future reference.

Unconnected,

Congrats on a big prime!

You probably don't want to wait much longer to submit the prime to the top-5000 site. It is possible for people to "steal" a prime. If you've never had a top-5000 prime before, we can step you through it.

Credits in the proof code should be given to:
(yourself), CRUS, prime95, PFGW, and srsieve.

As Max said, using LLR is easier due to not having to prove the prime with PFGW. If you used that, you'd just give LLR credit instead of prime95 and PFGW at the top-5000 site. LLR has a very simple-to-use GUI for Windows.

Edit: I just now read your Email from a couple of days ago after posting this. I'll help you out with the prime submission a little later today.

Dmitry (unconnected) has reported completion of n=200K-210K in an Email.

Dmitry,

If you happen to see this first, please check your Email. I see that the prime was reported but not quite correctly.

Thanks,
Gary

Hey I'm new to this, but i'd like to reserve 210-212k. I'm using LLR 3.7.1c (windows). Is this the version I should be using or is there a newer version or a better program to do prp tests on these numbers? Thanks!
