It can't quite match Rogue's outstanding discovery but I just found a nice prime of my own after just 118 tests on Sierp base 16 on the n=126K-130K range. Here it is:
19725*16^126275+1 is prime! submitted as 19725*2^505100+1 Edit: k=19725 has now been removed from all posted sieved files. Gary

Sierp base 16 continues to knock out primes while Riesel base 16 can't BUY one!

The very nice range of n=126K-130K is complete. 2 primes already reported.
n=130K-132K should be complete in the next couple of days. |

66505*16^134956+1 is prime!
![]() reported as: 66505*2^539824+1 It's good to get rid of the largest k-value remaining. It's odd that the last 5 consecutive and 6 of the last 7 k-values eliminated for Sierp base 16 have been divisible by 5. Last fiddled with by gd_barnes on 2008-06-26 at 06:02 |

My range is now at n=138K. Completion should be in 2-3 days.

Sierp 16 strikes again!
58855*16^138074+1 is prime reported as: 58855*2^552296+1 That's now 6 consecutive and 7 out of 8 k-values that are divisible by 5 that have had primes found on them for this base. There is now only a difference of 3 k-values remaining between Riesel and Sierp base 16 after having searched them to nearly the same depth despite the fact that Sierp has about twice the conjecture. Go figure! This seems to be the only base that I can find a prime on. Gary |

Since no other effort that I'm on has found a prime in a long time, I'll take this what is now a huge run of primes for Sierp base 16...3 primes in <2900 tests for n>528K base 2:
47482*16^138980+1 is prime! submitted as: 23741*2^555921+1 It finally stops the streak of k-values divisible by 5 with primes. Gary |
