Reserving S26 for sieving only P=21T-30T.
I am combining additional sieving for R26 and S26 and have determined that the optimum depth for n=250K-500K to be P=30T. ETA on one core is about 10 days. I will then release S26, post the updated sieve file to the pages, and begin the search for my reservation on R26. For those who are interested, the 3 k's on S26 are also recommended in this thread to push a little higher from n=250K to 300K. Doing the optimum depth calculation was an interesting excercise in the efficiency of combining both sides of a base for sieving. I did the calculation on only the 1 k remaining for R26. The optimum was only P=20T so taken alone, R26 at P=21T was already sieved far enough. But combining them gives the extra efficiency of sieving 4 total k's at once. Gary |

Done with 4k's for R30 to n=210K. One prime. Base released.

s17 is at n=780k, without primes.
it's getting boring.. ![]() I think i will pause (not unreserve) this, and continue s19 for some weeks. |

As an incentive to go higher, you'll be hitting 1 million digit tests at n=~813K. :-) Can you post a results file for n=500K-780K? I have results for everything n<=500K. Thanks. Last fiddled with by gd_barnes on 2010-05-17 at 06:58 |

I have completed fully sieving R26 & S26 for n=250K-500K to P=30T. No more sieving should be needed for the entire range. Updated sieve files are now posted on the pages. I will be testing R26 to at least n=400K.
Now reserving R22 & S22 for n=300K-1M for sieving only. At a current depth of only P=7T, much sieving is needed. R22 has already been searched to n=400K but I'll include n=300K-400K for a possible future doublecheck. The additional sieving time needed will be minimal since it is only 1 k out of 5 that are being sieved together and is only 1/7th of the entire n-range. R26 is at n=300K; nothing to report; continuing to n=400K.

It was time to get S15 off of the untested list so I have done a small effort:
S15 is complete for k<=1M to n=10K. 14 k's are remaining. Info. shown on the web pages. This would be an easy one for someone to take k<=1M to n=25K if anyone is interested. Base 15 is heavier weight than base 7 but lower weight than base 3. From what I can tell, at this point, bases 3 and 15 respectively are the top 2 heaviest-weight bases. |
