Personally for me, after 40 hours you just get so tired that nothing keeps you up anymore. Hoping to expand past that this year at college.

Usually you can call them and set up for "pickup".

Unfortunately, that's what I've pretty much ALWAYS had to do with FedEx - and around her, it's a 50 mile trip EACH WAY to their pickup facility.

Main reason I hate dealing with FedEx - they ALWAYS try to deliver when I'm not here or asleep....

My wife drove to the FedEx place today and picked it up, and then she stopped by Wendy's and got me a Spicy Chicken combo... She must be up to something...

I'll post some assembly pictures in a few hours...

Here is the memory, processor and heat sink installed on the motherboard... Note the crazy bracket on the underside of the motherboard...

It fired right up with no problems... I had it boot an old copy of Windows XP so right now it is in 32-bit mode... Here is a quick benchmark...

I forgot that we need to buy a CD drive for it so I'll order one Monday morning... Until then I'll use the one from my game box...

I slapped in a network card that I know is supported under Linux... Hopefully getting the ones on the motherboard to work will be easy...

The 13GB drive my Mom donated won't spin up... I'm not sure why. but I'll look into it... If I can't figure it out by Monday morning I'll order a cheap 40GB one then... For now I have put in one of my old 1GB drives...

Overall the box is surprisingly quiet...

I'll post more in a few hours...

I just installed a pair of Xeons on an ASUS PP-DLW motherboard. Same crazy looking bracket (using the Intel supplied heatsink/fan, ASUS didn't supply a bracket thingie). Is your bracket insulated (the part facing the motherboard) and is used for attaching the heatsink/fan assembly? Just curious.

btw - Does the fan blow air down onto the heatsink?

Yes, it has insulation on the side that faces the motherboard, and it has two parts that stick through to the top of the motherboard that the heat sink bracket screws into...

Yes... It's actually difficult to tell which way it is working because it moves only a very small amount of air... I'm really surprised at how cool this thing runs and how quiet it is... I bet I could even remove the 2 rear case fans but since they are already installed I'll leave them there...
