6227020787 was 13! - 13, but 13* (12! - 1) works too....

There is nothing sneaky about this one. It is rather plain.

Hmm...besides the fact that it's = 10^17-10^9-1, it factors into 107*934579438317757, i.e. the smallest factor is the exponent of the eleventh Mersenne prime. But I feel that's a bit of a reach - care to throw us a little hint, nomadicus?

99999999899999999= 8 9's, 1 8 (in the ninth spot), and 8 9's

Was that the idea?

... and it's palindromic, which we all noticed but didn't think to say until now, with the number of 9's on each side equal to the middle digit, which is beginning to verge on special ...

Hmm ... to summarize: 99999999899999999 is palindromic, with the number of 9's on each side equal to the middle digit 8, and equals 107 * 934579438317757, where the smaller factor 107 is the exponent of the eleventh Mersenne prime ... and 11 is the smallest prime larger than 8 ....

THAT'S IT! nomadicus IS TELLING US THAT 2^934579438317757 - 1 IS NOT ONLY PRIME BUT ALSO PALINDROMIC IN BOTH BASE 8 AND BASE 11 !!!! WOW!! Way to go, nomadicus!

Oh, wait ... that would be sneaky, but nomadicus said there's nothing sneaky about it, and besides, 2^934579438317757 - 1 can't be palindromic in base 8.

Uncwilly, it's your turn to specify another special number.

Yes, but that might just be nomadicus being sneaky and trying to mislead us.

Oh. Yeah.

Uncwilly, hold on ... er, off ... a moment.

(Ever notice how "hold on" and "hold off" can almost be synonymous in some contextx?)
