(If it is a number with special meaning in mathematics, I'll never get it anyway.)

I'm just out of (semi-) clever ideas...

5,171,655,946 is not:

The number of people on the planet (6,308,703,241);
The age of the Earth in years (too high);
The age of the universe in years (too low);
Number of burgers served by McDonalds (100+ billion plus);
A telephone number I (or Google) recognize.
OK, the first person to guess this one correctly and post their answer in this thread gets a reprint of "The twenty-fourth Fermat number is composite," by Crandall, Mayer & Papadopoulos, signed by me. (There's your hint, too.)

5,171,655,946 is the number of digits in F34 = 2^(2^34)+1.

Btw, 10,412,737 is the smallest mersenne exponent that has never had an LL test.

5,171,655,946 is the number of digits in F34 = 2^(2^34)+1.
...which is the smallest even-index Fermat number of unknown character.

We have a winner! Nick, PM me your mailing address and I'll get your prize in the mail.

To continue the tread i'm not entirely sure where to start, so I believe that M5,171,655,946 is not very far away from the 110th mersenne prime :D .

What is 131072?

UPDATE

I didn't read hard enough :D ! The question asked...

233 is related to pi how?

233=Fibonacci number 13 that is all i know. Will try to figure out...

What is 131072?

30030 = 2 * 3 * 5 * 7 * 11 *13, the product of the first six primes.

131,072 is also the number of kilobytes in a 128MB stick of memory... (I knew memorizing those BIOS screens would pay off!)

Anyways, continuing the chain...
