Note that Moore's Law is not actually a law, it should be Moore's Observation. Scientists reserve the word Law for laws of nature. An observation is just something that happens to be true for a while. It can change, Moore's Observation changed from 12 to 18 months. Besides, chip makers use it as a target, so it's a sort of self-fulfilling prophecy.
