I don't think those are 419 scams. I've been getting those for a while now and it is just a simplistic way to drive traffic to their site. I never actually clicked there so I have no idea what is there, probably either malware or viagra I would guess.

Fake Antivirus site? I'm guessing Personal Security popped up. I sometimes have that problem. It's only about once a month. My antivirus blocks it most of the time.

I've gotten the version of these e-mails that reference a specific (and actual) plane crash as the cause of death of some very rich person; I'm sure they do that in order to have at least one verifiable fact in their sales pitch. But I've never received an e-mail from someone quite this famous.
"From: Mrs. Safiya Gadhafi. Wife of Libya leader. Dear: Sir. This may appear a bit surprising to you but as a matter of fact, I am desperately looking for a foreign partner whom I can trust to handle some investment of fund movement. I MRS SAFIYA FARKASH, A wife of late Libyan leader Colonel Muammar Gadhafi. who was recently killed by his political opponent, I her wife is contacting you for help to assist me in getting some money which was deposited by my later husband in Burkina Faso where my husband have the most costs property in west Africa...." Perhaps an e-mail with investment opportunities from one of bin Laden's wives is next? Norm |

I have a niggling doubt about the legitimacy of this offer:

I can guarantee that the aldeia@araucaria.pr.gov.br email address is true. This email is associated to tourism section of Paraná, one state of Brazil but I don't think that Capt. Anita exists.
