IDLE 0-0 assignments

One of my clients is getting IDLE 0-0 assignments and ... errr... idles. What could have caused that? Will it go away *ggg* ?

IDLE assignments come from two possible conditions. If the server has nothing to assign, it will send IDLE. (Highly unlikely in this case)

You also get IDLE if you are on the "blacklist" because you have not been returning well formatted results. If you were running smoothly on the previous project, 10,227-, check to see if you might be having trouble with generating the new roots file. (If you have a shortage of HD space, delete everything in the projects folder)

Another cause of difficulty might be in the communications. Sometimes we have trouble with proxies. Please send email to me listing the GUID of your machine and which pool you are using.

Please also note that in the past older versions of the client would get idle assignments when one would need to upgrade (I know I did). If this is the case, upgrade, and volia! You are in the game again :)

I had some trouble with my terminal locking up. I restarted and tried to run NFSNEt and now I'm just getting Idle 0-0 assignments. How do I go about fixing this?

How do I fix this?

The short answer is "Don't do that".

The slightly longer answer is that you need to fix things and wait 6 hours for the server to reset. It does so automatically.

The only other alternative is to give me more information about "who you are". Which Pool? What Guid? What general time?

The only entry that I was able to match to you (M00095B0CDDCDP0 in the MSRC pool) seems to have been running full speed for hours.

Actually, you are in the MSRC pool.

You seem to have served you time in the penalty box and are back to normal participation.
