To give you all an impression how much work was done here are the numbers from 2008:

Number of factors found: 74888
Number of first pass tests returned: 44242
Number of second pass tests returned: 39822

A Happy new year and keep on crunching,

Lars

Humm, good point, I think we will actually find two primes next year!!!
Yup two! And first one should come very shortly, IMHO.
I would say 9M is also a good goal.

Nuff said.

MikeH's site is a very good example of this. I remember back when we first started the combined effort. I would say that the density of PSP's has decreased along with those of SoB's above 20M.

I think a good goal is 8% of total tests, not counting those removed by primes.

Totally agree this was not pointed at Lars specifically. It was actually pointed at the community in general. I personally do not have the time nor the resources to host. I think a new commer could help out alot here. These installs are so old hat for me I don't understand why people have problems...

I think I totally under estimated this one as well. My laptop is a Core2Duo and I really had no idea how fast this thing crunches... I'll certainly bring up the secondpass level but to where??? (Time will tell) I'd put it into the dc server but like I said it's semi-offline.

Bump of an old thread but nice to add to a central history thread. I will not make it as nice as Joe but copy paste will make due.
