What about mprime v2212? Is that one also affected? It does not have a "Round off checking" option like prime95 does.
Do earlier versions than 22.12 also have the bug? |

If you are running ECM on a P4 get version 22.13. The bug was in all earlier versions. If you need a Linux executable let me know I'll make one.

A Linux executable would be nice, but I'm not in a hurry. I have two Windows computers as well (doing LL tests). So I can just swap the work.
(I just didn't manage to set up my local network for my Linux computer to connect to Internet via my Win XP, so it would be easiest to use that one for ECM.) |

I have been trying to download the new 22.12 version of Prime95 for the last three days, but it never gets past 35Kb. Is there a mirror anywhere?

I hope George doesn't mind. I'll remove it if he likes.

Personally, I'd only get the client straight from George... I noticed that sometimes he will update a binary without changing the version number so the best way to make sure what you are getting is the newest is to go to him directly...
(George, if you want another FTP area to upload stuff for redundancy the server this forum is on has plenty of room and bandwidth... I know it would be more work, but maybe we need a backup... If you need someone to manage it for you just let us know!) |

Version 23.1 seems to be stable enough to use. The Windows version is available at ftp://mersenne.org/gimps/p95v231.zip
Only P4 users need to download it. There are a number of small speed increases to the SSE2 code. The gains are greatest for P4 Celeron and P4 Northwood CPUs. P.S. Those testing 10 million digit numbers will find this version 23.1 is slightly faster than the one I made earlier this month. |
