Swiss Accidentally Invade Liechtenstein - New York Times:
http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/worl...-Invasion.html I'm imagining how this might play if the folks in Liechtenstein affected Middle-Eastern-style verbal flourishes - say like the former Iraqi Information Minister, Mohammad "there are no American tanks in Bagdad! Never!" Saaed al-Sahaf (see welovetheiraqiinformationminister.com for more information on him): Liechtenstein Interior ministry spokesman Markus Amman said, in a long-winded, wide-ranging diatribe before the assembled world media, "The blood-sucking Swiss border-crossing infidel mercenaries have been slaughtered gloriously to their last man ... the jackals come to steal our children and fine postage stamps, but we have given them a sour taste of their own intentions ... our heroic peoples have met them at the border with bullets and the soles of their shoes ... They are like a snake and we are going to cut it in pieces ... they are nothing but infidel coward cowherds who cower behind their cowbells ... God, the most merciful is roasting their stomachs in hell ... the streets of the Fürstentum are flowing with the blood of the godless Armyknife worshippers ... we have made their children orphans and their wives widows ... there are no Swiss Army troops in the Liechtensteinian Fürstenpalast - Never!" Instead, we get, "nobody in Liechtenstein had even noticed the soldiers". Boorrrring... |

It happens every now and then that soldiers accidently cross the border during their exercise walks. Most common it is around Schaffhausen where the border between Germany and Switzerland is somewhat difficult.
Liechtenstein is different. 80% of the Swiss border is the Rhein, there you need to use the bridges and then you can see the signpost of the border. Only maybe the small part in the south where a large part is mountains. Anyway. Liechtenstin and Switzerland is connected so tightly togeteher that they have many thing in common (Same currency (but different Stamps) and same Language), the border between Liechtenstein and Switzerland does only exist on the Plan, there are no Buildings or so on the road. Actually the border between Liechtenstein and Austria is run by Swiss frontier-guards (hired by Liechtenstein) If swiss people go to Liechtenstein, they don't feel like being abroad. It is similar like being in Switzerland itself. |

My dad's side of the family is from the westernmost Austrian province of Vorarlberg, so when I used to visit those relatives, the border with Liechtenstein was just a couple miles away. I used to ride across to Liechtenstein on my bicycle to buy stamps and chocolate in the capital of Vaduz. I'd just cycle breezily across, holding my passport in one outstretrched hand, while all the people in cars would be stopped in a long line at the border. The Swiss border was just a little further away (i.e. directly on the other side of Liechtenstein - you can literally walk cross-country there in an afternoon). There's a famous hiking trail, the Fürstensteig, that runs the entrie length of the country - highly recommended for anyone that ever finds themself in that neck of the woods. |

My favorite cow ludabelle wandered down to the stream for a drink. On her way back, she accidentally stepped through the fence and wound up in my neighbors pasture. He fed her and brought her up to the gate and turned her back into her own pasture. She had a nice visit with his bull.
The above is just about as outre' as the Swiss army invades Lichtenstein story. Fusion |

Haha, very funny story :D
This is a proof that Swiss and Liechtensteiners people are cool (well, not everytime).According to CNN, we already have invaded Czech Republic : http://www.riehle.org/humorous-takes...ing-to-cnn.jpg (and this isn't a fake) Many others interresting facts about switzerland can be found here : http://uncyclopedia.org/wiki/Switzerland «Because everyone who is in the mandatory military service has an assault rifle at home, insulting a Swiss (being late or unable to pronounce "Chuchichäschtli" for example) while visiting him should be very dangerous. But that would be counting without the legendary Swiss calm and composure—there are fewer murders in Switzerland than anywhere else in the world. In fact crime rates are so low, they are actually in negative numbers (meaning it is not uncommon to walk home and find a new Plasma TV in your house). This negative-crime can be disturbing, and visitors are reminded that it's nothing personal—just the nature of the Swiss.» |

Vaduz is then 20km south, probably you will find your stamps already earlier in Schaan. Vaduz almost only consists of banks... You will also find chocolate on the other side of the Rhein in Buchs - maybe it is the same anyway.

The lunar eclipse was visible all over europe and africa and beyond.(Unlike solar eclipses, where you have to follow a narrow path) The more you go east (asia) the later the eclipse was (until a point where it was already after moonset;on the other side, the more you go west the earlier it would be, probably before moonrise in america. (At full moon sunset is about the same time as moonrise).
In parts of eurpoe, the clouds were the main problem which made watching the lunar eclipse impossible. By the way: I don't lve in Liechtenstein, I am from Switzerland. Nevertheless I worked in a project in Liechtenstein for half a year. |
