Somehow there was an backup from the important stuff on my 4 TB HDD, too. (1,2 TB full of Games I never played...)

My youngest "kitten" has growths on her lips. We have repeatedly tried treating with antibiotics, with little success.

She is halfway through a last treatment, and then she goes "under the knife" on Friday.

Phobos (she's a rare female "ginger" I rescued) will likely be seriously disfigured by the surgery, but might live a few more years. I'm seriously scared and sad....

Don't give up hope. Our 8 month old puppy was diagnosed with papillary squamous cell carcinoma. They removed the tumor and recommended removal of the lower jaw as a "cure". We elected not to do that and 5 years later the dog is cancer free.

I hope your outcome is as positive as ours was.

I agree with George... under skilled hands, our pets can make it through many tough situations.

I strongly endorse the idea of a second opinion. It's a route I try to follow personally, at least in serious situations.

Sigh... mere hours after posting that, I got home to a sick cat. He's been lethargic for a couple days, not eating much at all. So, having been through this too many times before with other cats (used to have 4, now down to one) I took him to the vet pronto.

He's all blocked up, if you know what I mean. Got some lactulose to give the poor fella... 3 doses now and still no movement below, but fingers crossed.

I had another cat with similar chronic issues that lead to a megacolon. That was NOT fun at all and eventually caused his passing. Sigh. That's why I try to be quicker at spotting the signs and getting things handled sooner. Live and learn.

I had a molar extracted earlier this morning. The operation required vast amounts of local anaesthetic injected in three separate batches. The anaesthetic is now wearing off so I'm beginning to feel rather weird though not, as yet, in pain.
