My acid water ate its way through the one remaining bit of copper in my plumbing system, leaving me to clean up several gallons of water off my kitchen floor last night!!!
Time for a new water heater, thinking about one of those heat pump models. GE ned not apply with its copper heating element. |

I suggest that you go tankless. When my current model (which has a tank) goes I will definitely go tankless. It is more expensive to install, but most parts are serviceable/replaceable, thus they last more than twice as long.

It appears that my automobile will be going to an early grave. I was expecting to get at at least 2/3rds more usage before even thinking of wishing it away to the cornfield.
![]() I am surprised that the aggressor vehicle was in as good as shape as it was (the airbags did not deploy). |

A water main inside our wall broke yesterday. We spent far too long trying to find the interior emergency water cutoff valve before we went out to the front yard and decoupled the main feed. Apparently, our house does not have an interior emergency water cutoff valve. (!)
We probably should have gone for the main valve in the first place, but we were a bit frantic and it took a while for the thought to occur to us. Fortunately, the house is not exactly level, so the bulk of the water sloshed (slowly) to Snake1 and Fish1's room. We rented a water extractor and we think we have most of the water picked up. We are worried about mold and stuff, though. There could be a fungus among us! |

Seriously, I hope it gets sorted out reasonably quickly and without too much damage caused. Paul |

Many modern houses have a shut-off where the water service enters the house. |

My home computer died yesterday
![]() It doesn't even respond to the main switch. I'm afraid the power supply left our dimension. Luigi |

My transmission is sick...made funny noises yesterday (an untoward whirring), then refused to shift into gear and vibrated bad on corners under load....
I find out if it's in this dimension or the next later today. |

My computer is on 24/7.
Why does Kaspersky AV wait till the machine is being used most actively (e.g. streaming video) to update itself? David PS It probably doesn't want to slow down Prime95
