More than two years trying to conceive and looks like my Michael Phelps aren’t good enough (morphology and motility issues) therefore we will be starting the IVF process through NHS in U.K. First we will be doing a series of blood tests...

Anyway, it’s been some hard two years and now we are relying on only one IVF chance, we hope and looking forward to being parents. Not sure what else I can add (very sad) but I’ll share in due course if we had success.

My guess would be mononucleosis. I had to go back 50 years to my college days when it seemed that every winter there were 4 or 5 guys on my dorm floor who had that and their symptoms were similar, especially the cyclical part.

My younger sister and her husband had similar issues, met when they were not exactly young and decided they wanted kids when they were ~40. They went through all kinds of stuff, multiple IVF trials and special therapies designed to boost the odds of an IVF success ... long story short, they finally succeeded and their twin (one blond like his dad, the other darker like his mom) boys will turn 10 this Wednesday - this is them on vacation last summer, wearing their "Aw, do we hafta take *another* picture?" faces:

Fascinating, the varied terminology regarding fevers. One of my great-uncles had a serious bout of brucellosis, which he almost certainly contracted by drinking unpasteurized milk. It was then known by the name, "undulant fever."

"Night sweats" are sometimes a symptom of tuberculosis. A traditional treatment for night sweats is sage tea.

I hadn't thought of mononucleosis. When I was in high school, it was not uncommon to hear that a student who had been absent for a long time was "out with mono," AKA "kissing disease." Those afflicted basically had to stay home until they got over it.

I am reminded of when (it has been so long, I had to look it up, it was late 1974) it was announced on the news that Jack Benny was ailing. But nobody knew what was wrong with him. He was finally diagnosed in early December, and died just after Christmas.

I got clipped by a passing motorist today. F

er didn't even stop to apologise. So rude.

I lost control of the bike and ended up sliding along a guard rail for a short distance. I have many cuts, bruises and aches now, but nothing broken.

It nearly slit my stomach open since I was sliding along the top of the guard rail face down. I have a very long and very painful tear across my belly. Also ruined one of the best shirts, damn it.

But everything is okay because there was no damage to the bike.

Get well soon. I used to bike to work (pedal). I had a few cases of hit and run. None life threatening though.

That's way beyond "rude." In theory, the driver could be charged with hit-and-run, possibly in felony territory. In theory, you could sue.

In practice, of course, without a license plate number or other way to ID the vehicle (and the driver), legally you're up a stump; and, even if you had the goods, without serious damage either to the bike or yourself, getting involved in the legal system is probably not worth the hassle anyway.

One piece of advice: If you haven't had a tetanus shot within the last 10 years, get one.

Legal remedies must be very different for you in your place of residence. Around my lair these things are dealt with in a more informal manner.
