Big HMMM there.

One would hope that reserved = booked (as long as you didn't turn up
too much later than promised).

"Bespoke" I thought was something to do with tailoring, but as usual
I'm willing to be enlightened.

"Spoken for" I do understand!

David

PS Thanks again for keeping me out of jail in Hampstead.

PPS Bespoke = Well spoken?????

Strangely enough, most of the Czech I know is also concerned with eating away from home.

Clear where the survival instinct is strongest.

I speak many languages as well:

Taramasalata
Escargot
Sauerkraut
Paella
Pizza
Wiener Schnitzel
...Won't go on.

Feel strangely queezy.

As a near "War Baby" and one who went to boarding school,
I customarily eat every/any thing on my plate.

My parents explained that the proper way of expressing
that you had eaten sufficiently was to place your knife and fork
together on the plate.

I have rarely found this etiquette necessary.

Perhaps it did originally - one place we ran into the term was the play Bespoke Overcoat at a local theater - there it refers to a custom tailored overcoat. But we first learned the term when my wife attended a management training conference, and the vendor room was full of companies offering "bespoke training." We finally figured out that the American expression was "customized training."

Yep.
"Bespoke","tailored" and "customized" are fairly synonymous.

But "bespoke" is now quaint and archaic.
(Apart from Savile Row perhaps).
Not to mention redundant.
When my ancient father said "I've an appointment with my tailor",
I never thought he was going to Primark for a pair of jeans!

Ever since "suits you sir" on the Fast Show", tailors tend
to arouse mirth.

My trigeminal neuralgia has flared up again.

Luckily, I've still got large amounts of gabapentin left over from the previous occasion.

My first two bad results:

Unfortunately, all of the other results from that computer are probably incorrect as well. :-(

Can you confirm whether opiates are helpful in addition to the gabapentin?

Almost completely useless, IME. A dose of meptazinol, an opiate which is allegedly 10% of the strength of morphine, gives me relief for at most 10 to 15 minutes and often less.

OTOH, I find meptazinol to be quite effective for migraine headaches.

As a result of the recent heatwave, I've had to temporarily cut back on my GIMPS output. My 'biggest' box is down from 5 to 2 cores -- I run all 6 during the winter months.

Our local power company has an opt-in program where they reserve the right to turn off your A/C compressor during 'emergency' events in exchange for discounts. Our compressor was off for over 6 hours during a 100+ Fahrenheit (38+ Celsius) day. When I got home from work and discovered the situation, I temporarily halted all GIMPS output for a few hours, just so we could try and maintain a livable environment until the compressor was re-enabled.

No computers were damaged, but I probably lost a few pounds in water weight from sweating.

Up here in the subarctic we don't have exactly that problem --- there's no A/C in my house at all, for instance --- but it does occasionally get so warm that I have to open the small windows in my study and very occasionally the outside door too. The latter event has occurred twice so far this summer when the outside temperature reached the high twenties. At least the cacti and other (semi-)tropical plants like it in here.
