Well played, sir. :)

Take away the neighbors' cat's food, as well? Seriously, might it be possible to see if the neighbors can put their cat's food somewhere where only their cat has easy access to it? (Shy of your coon engaging in literal cat-burgling, that is.)

Yeah. Managing the neighbour's behaviour has always worked out well...

Thanks for the link. I checked it out but, unfortunately, the company doesn't ship to the UK.

As it happens, I have an old turntable surplus to requirements. If I wasn't so good at DIY (damage-it-yourself) I'd have a go at building a capybara wheel. Not sure Genghis (the pudgy-cat in question) could manage 78 rpm but 33 1/3 might be possible, especially if he were locked in. OTOH, I'm far from sure that the turntable would have the required torque. A 6.6kg pudgy-cat is much more of a challenge than a 0.05kg vinyl record.

I've heard of more than one cat becoming diabetic due to the high amount of carbohydrates in common commercial cat food.

The solution? Feed them meat instead. It worked for my mom's cat, who promptly lost all his excess weight and got his energy back.

Yeah. For our cats meat is on the menu. Specifically, tuna.

They also augment their diet with a bit of rat and moth.

Paul, couple more thoughts:

o Might an oversized hamster wheel built from spare bicycle wheel parts be an option? Do cats even go for that kind of hamster-style hyponotic-state wheel-running?

o A friend who in a fit of unwonted new-techiness bought an irobot roomba some years ago says the only use she still has for it is as an expensive cat toy. So maybe some kind of lower-priced remote-control vehicle? Maybe a small RC car dressed up in faux fur?

Be careful about feeding your cats too much tuna as it tends to be high in mercury.

In order to make room for the new PCs I had to retire my very first Quad Core (Q9550).
I can't afford the power bill for any more PC's.

I've had it running non-stop for almost 9 years.
It completed 37,500 GhzDays of work in those 9 years.
It was so exciting to see each core of it complete an LL for a 40M exponent in 1 month!!!!!

Default Thanksgiving

Medics have been investigating my innards lately. Yesterday's episode included a live video show from inside my stomach. All very straightforward.

Unfortunately, I've been told to lay off the hard booze for a while, so no Wild Turkey for me today.
