One of your favorite movies is Stealth (even though it didn't do too well in the box office) because the protagonist Ben Gannon has an obsession with prime numbers.

You spend all day with two pages of IE open on the Primenet
stats summary page, and update them to monitor the hourly progress. Doing just this, I witnessed a milestone passing a couple of days ago: There are no longer any 100,000 exponent ranges <36 million with a four figure number of first time LL tests outstanding. Yours sadly, David |

You spontaneusly burst into tears when you see a friends computer or many demo computers, in a computer store, switched on and wasting their cycles on a screensaver.

...you want to be contacted by intelligent extraterrestrials so you can ask them whether they know what the next Mersenne prime is!
![]() ...and then keep it to yourself so you can be the first to 'discover' it.

You get mad at Nichtwahr for his suggestion because your life lacks meaning if all the Mersenne primes are discovered. In other words, you consider running Prime95j to be your reason for existence.

... you don't even know of anyone who doesn't consider running Prime95 to be the reason for existence. The very thought seems inconceivable!

I am definately addicted to GIMPS! After all, not only was I the first to complete a LL test of a number in the 2^100,000,000 (30 million digit) range, I am now actually testing a 100 million digit number for primality...
As for the time required, lets just say it will likely finish sometime within the next decade.

... the reason you spot a misspelling of the word "definitely" is that you recall that "finitely" is imbedded in it.
