Richard Heylen analyzed the distribution of brilliants and his result appears at the end of Alpertron's web page. Richard's analysis suggests that a 150-digit brilliant should be found in the first 20K or so with 50% probability.

I used his analysis to set an upper limit of 20,000 on the first batch I searched. That batch didn't contain a brilliant and so the next batch was searched --- which is why brill.txt goes to 40K.

Indeed, I may have been unlucky. However, I was in no hurry (that should already be obvious!) and the search gave my elderly machines something to do with themselves while keeping my study warm in winter.

I wish it were always winter. The new machines I have kick out a large amount of heat so I'm going to have to get them hosted in a nice HVAC environment. I can't get them up to full power whilst it's summer.

Minimum Colocation requirements:

UK - London (within 50 miles).
Good HVAC. This probably rules out most hobbyist hosting.
7U (6U full length, 1U half length). May even require 10U if heat is a problem.
5 power sockets required.
1 IP address.
Only ssh access required (no http).

Any UK people have any suggestions?
