The layout has somewhat changed; I think the thread statistics are gone; I prefer it like this.
Now it is:

Thread title.......
by Author.......
..........Date.

Is it possible to put all this information in two lines, perhaps like this:

Thread title.......
by Author....... ..........Date.

Just a suggestion to save space, if it is easy to implement.

BTW: Who is running this great forum for us? I know you do the job (and very well), Xyzzy, but who is paying for the bandwidth, etc, and why? Is there an impressum or something like this?

Yours H.

That is the way the forum home page looks right now, isn't it? Everything on 2 lines?

Almost any modification is possible, but we try to change the actual PHP source code as little as possible because every time there is a security update the files get overwritten. Most of the changes you see are either simple checkbox options, template changes or global variables. (For example, "Välkommen" is a global "hello" variable.)

The cost isn't an issue, as long as we stick to the basic plan we are on. That's why that denial of service attack recently was such a problem. Right now we slip the web server bill into the stack of household bills every month and Mrs. Xyzzy unwittingly pays it. A long time ago we tried putting some ads up but they proved to be too much of a hassle and they also made the forum difficult to read. We had also promised, from the beginning, not to plaster ads all over the place.

As for "running" the forum, 99% of the work is done by our highly-paid moderators.

The forum would, of course, be nothing without the participants.

Can I request that the numbedr of posts per page be limited to ~50.
These 100 per page have given me fits in the larger soap box threads.

thanks

Maybe we could have the options page have more than two options for the "posts per page" setting -- "User Forum Default" and "100 posts per page"?
