Figure out a layout that pleases the majority and we'll make it happen.

Although it's MERSENNEforum, I think one should not push non-mersenne projects too much down.

Off topic: Citrix, I just realized that your new avatar now really represents you, just after eating your former avatar, the lemon.

My 2p.

Reorg the seven sections down to 5.

Section1: GIMPS
** Information & Answers
** <<Existing GIMPS sub forums>>
** LMH
** OBD
** Mersennaries

Section 2: Miscellaneous
** <<Combine Fun Stuff & Extra Stuff>>

Section 3: Prime projects (existing section).

Section 4: Rename "Factoring Projects" to just plain "Factoring"

Section 5: Rename "Other Stuff" to Administration

Controversial Proposal: Move ElevenSmooth & Octoproth Search to "Archive Projects" (these two have roughly the same activity as PSearch)

While we are at it, could we please get rid of the annoying redirect page while searching for new posts?

Can someone tell me why the mersenneforum icon is a sun, or whatever that might turn out to be...

Done.

Sometimes the forum software resets certain options back to the defaults. We've "fixed" this issue several times in the past. If it happens again just let us know.

We were just messing around with the favicon format and came up with the current image. We were using the one from mersenne.org, but that one is kind of plain looking. Maybe we'll switch back or maybe we'll do a random one every once in a while. We figure 99% of the viewers of the forum don't even notice the favicon anyways.

Why not use the red square displayed in the taskbar when Prime95 is running on a PC, or a similar 2^p-1 kind of icon? Favicons should be fairly plain as in easy-to-render-accurately, but bold colors are a plus.

Different browsers render favicons in different ways. The "sunshine" is affected by this the least. Right now the forum is set to use the tray icon. Notice in the attached picture how one browser renders it differently in two different areas.
