If you report results for testing that was not assigned by PrimeNet, you will get GIMPS credit (see http://www.mersenne.org/top.htm), but not PrimeNet credit. (Edit: GIMPS credit is given for L-L testing, but not for factoring. So non-PrimeNet-assigned factoring will not receive credit from either PrimeNet or GIMPS. Thanks to garo for pointing out my oversight!)

Furthermore I think the things you send in with the Forms must still be manually processed by George or someone else.
I think there's an automated tool or two to help, and that PrimeNet batches up the results reported manually to it, so that George handles fewer chunks than he would for e-mail reports.

It would be nice if we can actually get a reply on this thread from George or whoever made the PrimeNet Server and the Manual Test Forms and scripts.
(in best Miss Piggy voice) What? You don't trust moi? :)

As far as factoring is concerned, you only get credit on primenet. george does not keep track of factoring credit. So you will not get credit for anything. In any case, LMH operating beyond the bounds of Primenet does not work for credit.

Actually, I don't care about the credit ant Top Producers Ranks.

I just thought that since I didn't get credit, it might not have been received correctly or that it would have to be evaluated manually first. But this doesn't seem to be the cause, so I'll just use the Manual Report Forms from now on.

Well, the best way to know for sure, if the results have been accepted is to wait till this Monday and then download the nofactor.zip file from teh GIMPS status page and see what the factored to bits for those exponents is.

Yeah, that's what I'm going to do. I already sent in factoring results up to 60 bits of 30M to 30.030M and later today the next block of 10,000 will be complete and I'll send that in as well.

Nah, it didn't crash... (Now try pulling out 2000 exponents in a few minutes, with eight instances of Prime95 running, and it will!)
I just tried to check in a "large" block of results. The server got to line 3161 and then gave up "server busy please try again in a few moments".

This was less than 20% of the way through the block that I cut and pasted into the web manual checkin interface :?

Well, that may be a bit much to report at once, but I put the results in the form per 10,000 range block (which are only about 250 lines) and it takes that withouth any problems. It takes my computer about a day to complete such a block, so I have to spent 2 minutes sending the report every day. I would say this works for me.

Last time I did a range, I put over a thousand result lines in at a pop into the manual return box.
