Trif, could you please re-run the benchmark on 23.5/23.6? It's interesting to see if the 512KB cache of the Athlon actually made any difference to Prime95.
Cheers! |

Here ya go:
AMD Athlon(tm) XP 3200+ CPU speed: 2204.91 MHz CPU features: RDTSC, CMOV, PREFETCH, MMX, SSE L1 cache size: 64 KB L2 cache size: 512 KB L1 cache line size: 64 bytes L2 cache line size: 64 bytes L1 TLBS: 32 L2 TLBS: 256 Prime95 version 23.6, RdtscTiming=1 Best time for 384K FFT length: 27.802 ms. Best time for 448K FFT length: 30.488 ms. Best time for 512K FFT length: 32.915 ms. Best time for 640K FFT length: 44.244 ms. Best time for 768K FFT length: 52.603 ms. Best time for 896K FFT length: 63.324 ms. Best time for 1024K FFT length: 70.255 ms. Best time for 1280K FFT length: 92.251 ms. Best time for 1536K FFT length: 109.822 ms. Best time for 1792K FFT length: 136.849 ms. Best time for 2048K FFT length: 147.958 ms. Note this is on Win98SE, which is slower than the newer operating systems. The torture test failed last night in the middle of the 64K FFT, so I am using the new features of 23.6 to pound the CPU with small FFT sizes. |

Xyzzy, how are you getting a 3200+ rating with a speed of only 2090?
BTW, I only have one stick of memory, so my benchies don't reflect the dual channel capabilities of the NForce2 chipset. Now if I could just figure out why the torture test is failing the 64K FFT and only the 64K FFT. |

That's interesting....
How come Prime95 benchmark sometimes reports the CPU model number and sometimes it doesn't? Mine only said "AMD Athlon(TM)" while some of you guys are getting "AMD Athlon(TM) XP 1800+ (Thoroughbred)" (as an example). |

I think it has to do with what the BIOS says. The (Thoroughbred) may have been added by the poster to distinguish it from a Palomino. With a Barton you can tell by the cache size.

Best time for 1792K FFT length: 64.189 ms. Best time for 2048K FFT length: 73.574 ms. Once I get my new Antec True430 Power Supply I should beable to hit atleast a 3.4ghz benchmark. Even know someone who has hit higher with his 2.4B. This is on a 2.4B, Soyo Dragon Ultra P4X400 board, 256mb of PC2100 Ram, and a very crappy power supply. |

This is a XP2400+ on an Abit NF7-S Ver. 2.0 with 512MB of PC3200 DDR memory. My XP2400+ appears to be completely stable at a 200MHz FSB.
