Trif, could you please re-run the benchmark on 23.5/23.6? It's interesting to see if the 512KB cache of the Athlon actually made any difference to Prime95.

Xyzzy, how are you getting a 3200+ rating with a speed of only 2090?

BTW, I only have one stick of memory, so my benchies don't reflect the dual channel capabilities of the NForce2 chipset.

Now if I could just figure out why the torture test is failing the 64K FFT and only the 64K FFT.

Maybe somewhere in your system the CPU is recognized as 3200+ or reported so by the BIOS.

Surely not. 64K means 64K double values, not bytes.

That's interesting....

How come Prime95 benchmark sometimes reports the CPU model number and sometimes it doesn't?

Mine only said "AMD Athlon(TM)" while some of you guys are getting
"AMD Athlon(TM) XP 1800+ (Thoroughbred)" (as an example).

I think it has to do with what the BIOS says. The (Thoroughbred) may have been added by the poster to distinguish it from a Palomino. With a Barton you can tell by the cache size.
