a) There is no significant speed difference in LL testing between 32- and 64-bit versions of Prime95 (see my benchmarks page, you can see a direct comparison between Q6600 @ 3.4GHz in 32-bit and 64-bit Prime95 v25.6).

a2) Not mentioned in your list of question, but at the above link you'll notice that TF is noticably faster on 64-bit up to 2^63 (see this thread for all sorts of detailed numbers and pretty graphs comparing 32- and 64-bit Prime95 performance).

b,c) P-1 (presumably ECM is similar) works better with more memory (works faster, so can spend more time processing to higher B1/B2, so has higher chance of finding factors). 32-bit Prime95 you'll be limited to <2GB. 64-bit should in theory not be limited, and if I recall correctly the 64-bit version of v24.x does work fine, but be aware that v25.6 x64 is buggy when >1800MB of RAM is allocated (e.g. this thread, posts 329-333).
Prime95 will prevent you from assigning more than 90% of the installed physical memory to itself; I believe on 32-bit Prime95 that would be the lesser of 90% of (physical RAM or 2GB), so for systems with 2GB+ that would be 1843MB.

is it possible for an OC to be stable with anything u throw at it in win32 but to crash in win64

It is kind of neat to look at the system screen and see all 4GiB in use.

We are waiting for something like this to drop in price someday.

Vista32 original edition will show actual available RAM in system properties (e.g. 3.2GB out of 4GB installed). Service Pack 1 does the less-useful thing of showing the physically installed RAM (e.g. 4GB) and no how much can actually be used.

The quad core is a desktop and the dual core is a laptop.

The desktop has an Intel motherboard that has "issues" with more than 4GiB.

Default Intel E5200 at 3.3GHz

Just put together an Intel E5200 today. Running on 667MHz DDR2 (was salvage from an old PC that crashed). Overclocked to 3.3GHz right out of the box. Benchmarks are similar to what a much more expensive E8500 would produce at stock.

This is not an official benchmark per se it does give hopefully a better understanding of the workings of Threaded Prime95 with a Quad core CPU. Some formatting didn't work well with txt format (see attached file) so I apologize if some areas don't appear as a table. Guess I'll have to get a PDF documenting program.
