From the timings, I'd guess it's either 1792k or 2048k FFTs - that "stock" figure is VERY close to what I get out of my #1 machine, which is running a Thoroughbred-B XP1800 at 333ish FSB and about 1800 Mhz.

It would be nice if they'd include the details, though....

p4 3.0c CPU on Asus p4c800-E: FSB@230mhz (920mhz quad pumped)
RAM - 1GB (2*512) corsair twinx running at ddr460, timings at 3-3-4-8

note: i'm saving up for the new Vapochill Lightspeed
Cooling performance load(idle): 240W @ -25.5°C (0W @ -48°C)
with that I should be able to get a stable overclock somewhere between 50-70% over chip rating (3.0ghz to ~5.0ghz)

Question

Anyone have their hands on a Prescott to benchmark

Just wondering if 1M L2 cache makes a difference or not ..
(they're sure not living up to what one might expect with the larger cache and 90 nano process vis-a-vis other *real world* benchmarks that I've seen)

btbk

The prescott is a poor performer compared to the northwood and canterwood(.13u P4s). Intel increased the number of stages in the pipeline in a desperate attempt to ramp clock speeds that compare to canterwoods. It is hard to say why intel even released such a under baked product.

From what i see, a 2.8 prescott is performing like a 2.6 canterwood.

Built a cheapo P4 for misc tasks. A lot of the parts I already have. Will be running Prime95. The only problem is the intel fan gets quite noisy when full loaded as its in a book size case

Intel P4 2.4C
Intel D865GLCL motherboard
Onboard Intel 'extreme' gfx (16MB set)
2x256MB DDR266 memory 2.5-3-3-6
Seagate 120GB Barracuda 7200.7 8MB Cache

Benchmark pretty much inline with expectation. Not bad results for only a 2.4GHz CPU and with very slow (by todays standard) memory DDR266 running on onboard video.
