Welcome to RPS. For future reference it is easier for us to keep track of the ranges if you reserve then in order. pb386 searched his range before he became aware of RPS' efforts.

thanks for the welcome.i understand that,im new to this so i didnt want to reserve a range before i was fairly certain i would finish it,so i took 1 that was unlikely to be reserved before i made my mind up.il be doing it in order from now on.il be goin away soon and i wont have anyone to sieve or llr test different files,i could leave newpgen running while im away and sieve some ranges for you if you wanted.

Dougal, thanks for helping out with k=17. We are very tolerant with reserved ranges and we would never re-assign a range without first sending a private message and waiting for a considerable time for a response.

Thanks for the offer to help with sieving but I am currently on target for the 2052-2300k range. I am currently at p=86.5T and expect to be at 100T before the files are required.

For info, the sieving program of choice is now srsieve and its derivatives - available from http://www.geocities.com/g_w_reynolds/. We use sr1sieve for a single k like k=17 and I am using the 64-bit version which is at least a 50% faster than the 32-bit version. srsieve has a considerable performance improvement over newpgen.
