Both factors make it into the database, but the history line is only showing one of the prime factors (instead of either the composite or both primes). Investigating...

Just a heads-up to everyone, I checked in some minor tweaks to the web code. Most of it is targeted at improving the Googliness by giving the major pages a better meta description.

Besides that, this page is now using the new Google charts API instead of the old Google image charts.

And last but not least, click the shiny "Donate" button to see the updated donation page. Okay, it's not that much different but it's fixed up somewhat from the way it used to look.

It's all cosmetic, but some of the template things changed so if you do see any malformed bits and pieces on any page, let us know here.

Doesn't work for me. Just a blank space. Probably some sort of JS thing I would expect if others are seeing it okay. Perhaps an alternative <noscript> tag will solve it.

Yeah, it's the Google chart API. It loads a .JS from Google in the <head>. If you're blocking any kind of JS, or maybe just from Google, that's probably the deal there.

The old Google image chart worked but a couple years ago they announced they were deprecating it. I'm not really sure when they'll pull the plug, but eventually it'll go away.

The account stats use the same Google chart API, with some Javascript. You might check there.

Login, go to your account summary, and click the "Show detailed stats for my account". You *should* see pretty pie charts and graphs.

Honestly, until James pointed that out to me the other day, I didn't even know that was there.

The team page is apparently still using the image chart, so either James or I will be moving those to the chart API eventually (I'm not in a team so I've never even seen those pages... guess I need to do that).

Eventually has arrived, team pages are also upgraded from image charts to JS charts.

After the fresh reboot the other day, I've been able to monitor how SQL is doing with memory usage on the server.

For the truly curious among you, SQL's memory usage climbed pretty quick (within 24 hours) to about 32 GB and as of now, 3 days on, it's hovering around 35 GB.

There's 54GB available, so it still hasn't hit any memory pressure and it's likely to stay in that upper 30 GB range unless we ask it to do any reindexing work which is sure to gobble up as much as it can.

I thought some folks would be interested, especially given that the old server only had 2 GB.

CPU usage of the new system is also at 7% (95th percentile). Bandwidth has the usual peaks and valleys but it's 95th percentile over the past 7 days is 2.5807 Mbps on the sending side. Typically 6-8 GB per day being sent out, more on Sundays when it does a full online backup.

So now you all know, for whatever it's worth.

Which probably sounds more conservative than it is: I assume this is a 12-thread CPU and that it's (on average) running one core pretty close to full while most of it sits idle?

Can we have the vertical axis of the chart of the server activity set to absolute, in other words with zero at the base? I like to use graphs by looking at the graph rather than having to visualise it myself by looking at the axis first and then transpose the graph.

It is certainly noticable when interacting with the server, not just the response time, but also the reliability.
