To my best knownledge, you can just take the proofs home on a stick, and bring it into the prime95 folder for upload. The program could be saying that somewhere. Not sure about the standalone uploader, but i don't think it's broken. No need to write anything new. I've not used gpuowl for prp, as my gpu is quite weak for it, and it's more of a tf gpu. Python is just a waste, and it's quite annoying to install anything related to it on Windoze. Just as much as using it. Make it standalone as possible, but it isn't needed, as gpu 'just' does jobs from the worktodo.

Most of the download links are provided in "Gpuowl Windows builds" thread (https://www.mersenneforum.org/showth...t=25624&page=3), where very few users can reach.
I think it would be good if the https://www.mersenne.org download page also linked to the reference info site map. (Would you consider adding that, George?)
There are many places in the mersenne forum pointing to that reference info compendium already, yet people still fail to discover it.

I'm guessing by "few users can reach" you may have meant something like "few will find".
The most comprehensive list of download links for gpuowl (for Windows or Linux) is https://www.mersenneforum.org/showpo...39&postcount=4
Gpuowl proof file upload alternatives are listed in this reference post.

I'm with you on the primenet.py and its requirement for installation of Python on every Windows system that runs Gpuowl is less than ideal.

Sorry for my poor English (Not a native English speaker myself)

We could also translate Prime95 and GPUowl to other languages to promote participation in different countries.

That is a good idea. The issue of the work by the authors to pull out all text and place it into a local language file would be significant. If they do, then volunteers could translate the messages. PrimeNet messages would still be English. To change that would require a re-write of PrimeNet and the client software. I will see if there is a thread that already exists about this.

I was surprised to see PRP on https://www.mersenne.org/report_expo...exp_hi=&full=1 assigned to someone else, since I have an entry in a worktodo file for that PRP with an AID, and there's no indication of expiration of assignment to me there. This was IIRC obtained as a manual PRP assignment, run on gpuowl v7.2-53, with over 19M PRP iterations performed to date, and the P-1 results were reported in on 2021-07-11. Did reporting the P-1 clear the PRP assignment? Maybe I'm remembering wrongly and only had a P-1 assignment? The current holder of the PRP assignment issued 2021-08-02 has not reported any progress yet.

The server logs for manual assignments are less informative than prime95 assignments. I can't tell you what happened.

The person that picked up the assignment has returned no results. Historically, chances are low they will complete this exponent. I leave it up to you as to how you want to proceed.
