M161166169 has two matching C-PRP results (Reliable), but still unverified. Really strange. (Does shift 0 matter?)

Quite weird that there's 2 people, both using shift-0 and manual prp, with both unaware of the wasted effort of not uploading or using proofs. Is it gpuowl? And both just happened to get the same high exponent? Shen has quite a bit of results, no proofs ever.

Maybe.
I have a suggestion that we should make GPUOWL more user-friendly, such as implementing a graphical user interface, or contacting PrimeNet and uploading proofs automatically, just like what Prime95 client does. A Python program could do both. As far as I know, maintaining an interface and sending HTTP requests don't take a lot of CPU resources. A user-friendly program could attract more users, thus increasing GIMPS throughput. Who would like to volunteer? |

Job's done already, few people here already did very nice and useful tools. Problem is how to make the users use the tools, and what to do with those who can't afford transferring the megabytes. Here luckily the internet pipe is thick, and not very expensive, but it may not be the case for everybody. Some people at jobs, for example, don't have any issue running P95 on the machine they use for daily work, but transferring the megabytes out of the company net may pose an issue.

In my country, more than one third of computer users have problems unzipping .zip files. Even more have problems unzipping 7z files, and over 95% of the users haven't installed Python environment. Really few people can use command line parameters ("pip install requests" first!), or have the courage to write and modify the code. Quote:
Most of the download links are provided in "Gpuowl Windows builds" thread (https://www.mersenneforum.org/showth...t=25624&page=3), where very few users can reach. Mfaktc have the same problems. It has anything but "user-friendly". Last fiddled with by Zhangrc on 2021-08-04 at 15:22 |

Not quite.
One must run two jobs - gpuowl and the python script. Zhangrc is suggesting enhancing the python script to also launch gpuowl (or vice versa, have gpuowl launch the python script). The chore is a little tricky in that often there are multiple gpuowls running, but only one python script running. |

And Pyinstaller or Nuitka is needed to convert py files to executables. most computer users can only double-click on exe files to run them.
