eBay just sent me an e-mail saying that my account has been suspended, and that I need to fax a copy of my drivers license to restore it! I had a perfect feedback rating of about 25, with no negatives!
I've heard that there is a bunch of junk going on with them right now, but this is ridicules. I don't think I'm going to go through the trouble of restoring my registration. |

I suspect this is another scam from someone involved in identity theft. My parents use eBay and receive emails like this all the time. They have ignored them and still have access to eBay. Besides, eBay didn't need your DL when you registered, why would they need it now?

No, it's legit. I went to eBay and my account was suspended. I wrote them an e-mail demanding an explanation, but I'm not hopeful for a response. I have had a success rate of about %50 in getting responses from eBay to e-mails, and even when they do respond, it takes at least a week.

(of course, you would expect a legit suspension notice email from eBay in that case.) You are wise not to fax your DL until you get a d@#n good reason from them. |

Must be nice - I've had a *0* % responce rate to my emails to eBay over the last 6 months - and have basically told them where they can shove their ripoff ways.
eBay used to be a good service, but of late they've turned into too much of a money-grubbing group for me to tolerate. |

I don't sell much on eBay anymore, but I sometimes buy... I got lucky today...

Oh, and those blankety-blanks haven't responded to my e-mail yet. I probably have a better chance of finding a 10,000,000 digit prime then getting a response from them. I used to really enjoy eBay, too. |

I almost had a heart attack this morning when I opened my inbox and actually saw an e-mail response from eBay
. For some reason, they thought someone had hacked into my account, and that is why they shut it down. But it's back now. I guess I really shouldn't have jumped to conclusions before, but I don't think anyone can really blame me. Who knows, maybe eBay is actually trying to improve after al the bad press they've been getting recently? |

Ebay rocks! As someone that collects hard to find items (not computer related) it will have 500% more inventory then the rest of the web combined. My parents in there mid 50's, sell about 50 items a week and its my mothers full time job.
Ebay did the right thing in your situation, better to be sure then guess wrong. |
