I just noticed that on my computer (the one I'm posting this from) hasn't checked into Primenet since Feb 2. There are two independent instances of Prime95 v.24.14, and both are configued to contact the server every 2 days, and until now they've been doing so.
The internet connction is active, and has been all along, and the output messages don't even indicate any attempt to contact the server. The only thing that seems like it might be suspicious is that the last check-in was the day before the infamous Feb 3. I haven't noticed any signs at all, though, of any virus on this PC. What's happened? Drew |

Are the instances of prime95 still running? It may be a case of the dreaded ERRO3 bug. Look into your prime.log for more info.

What happened was an error 5, and it reassigned a new username and password to both intstances of Prime95. From then on, it gave an error 17 each time it was scheduled to contact the server. I changed the usernames and passwords back, and they contacted the server right away. |

I wonder about all of the people who don't visit these forums, whether they'll notice this issue. There was no indication on the main screen. Drew |

My brother's computer in New York (I live in California) stopped contacting Primenet also. However, since I have no access to it until later this year, all results are lost until I can visit and figure out what went wrong.

Obviously the situation is less than ideal. But the ERROR 5 problem happened for a very short period of time and was fixed as soon as it was noticed. And the speed and reliability gains the server has received from Scott's attention more than outweigh any loss here.
For people who do not access these forums, the best bet is to email George with their results. Note also that if and when they do return a result, it will be logged by the server. Finally, when I run my monthly scipt I will be able to identify these exponents and ask George to credit these individuals as usual. |

its like remote desktop if he installs it and opens the correct port you could get the vnc client and connect to and control his machine but dont forgot to have him close the port when your not connected to it.
read about it here http://www.realvnc.com/ |
