i just put a brand new stick of 512 pc2700, straight from googlegear.com.....i originally bought this because my other stick of 512 i was using was bad, and i swapped the old one out with a stick of the exact same 512 i have in now, the one i just bought, and it was working fine with his before......i just find it hard to believe that this brand new stick of RAM is bad......should i run memtest86 on the RAM to see if thats the problem for sure?

Slimjim, that would be a good idea. But first, check your ram settings in your Bios. Maybe they were set very fast. You might want to back them off a bit.
You would be surprised at some of the garbage coming from reputable dealers nowadays. It's not really their fault, the manufacturers are trying to take shortcuts and not testing anything before it is shipped. |
