Yes, they are ! Chris said: "So the next (possibly the 43rd) Mersenne exponent might be about 38,000,000 yielding a Mersenne with about 11.5 million digits. Or it may not." It is not. The problem now is: will M44 close to M43 or not ? Will we have to wait 2 or 3 years before finding the next Mersenne prime ? I hope not ! BTW, it's difficult to say more, due to the nice French Red wine from Uzès we had today at lunch ! (I need a nap ...) Happy Christmas ! Where's George ??? Tony |
