Your "getting started" page says that someone should only reserve ~1 month, so according to my calculations this should take around a month or so...

Don't know what are you exactly referring to, maybe it's obsolete meanwhile. As you you can see in the table of reserved ranges many contributors are working much longer and in the sticky about the available ranges we are talking about "at least one month". So feel free to extend your range a bit. BTW, are you sure that your calculation is correct, has your machine just about 200MHz?
