Hi all. Here are my guides to various distributed computing-projects in PDF. They include instructions to ECM, NewPGen, LLR, the mersenneforum-projects and other stuff. I will update them when needed / when I have the time
You may use them, edit them, post them other places or do whatever you want with them. As always, if you find something missing, please tell me! ![]() For the glory of Distributed Computing! ![]() Here you go. Would you please add Riesel Sieve to the list?
It is similar to Seventeen or Bust, except while 17orBust is k*n^2+1, Riesel is k*2^n-1. It seems like a minor difference, but while 17orBust has about 12 k's left, Riesel Sieve has about 78. Also the Riesel number(the lowest k that causes composites for ALL n) is 509203, while I believe the Sierpenski number(which pertains to 17 or Bust) is 78 thousand-something. Very different problems. The site can be found here. The differences between the problems are subtle, especially to those who don't understand the math(like me), but it's enough to create a totally different problem. And that totally different problem would appreciate users. |

Jasong, I know it is a trivial matter, mostly, but i just thought I would mention that Riesel Sieve has 76ks left.

Hi Jasong
I'm working on a guide for Riesel Sieve. Right now I'm however busy with 100mdpp and some other things. I will finish it when I get the time. OH |

good work, Ombo. May I make a little request, please ?
Could you change the background color ? It is difficult to read the red and the blue text. Thanks |

Actually, this PDF-stuff is only temporary. I'm looking for someone to host the files in HTML.
Originally I though of Xyzzy, but with all the pictures and updates now and then, it seemed too complicated at that moment. Can anyone here think of a possible solution? I know of the mersennewiki, but the way the guides are written/the screenshots are placed makes it impossible to place properly in a wiki. @ppo: Can you eventually suggest another combination? I felt that white/black was too boring and I got inspired by Uncwillys 100mdpp design I use Word for editing (yes, I know I should use a WYSIWYG-thing, but I like to keep it simple). |
