This describes several meetings I've been involved with where I've been the "Expert" I wonder how many times I've been one of the other players?

The video does not give any idea of game play.

I in no way endorse the candidate for whom this ad is running, but there is a kicker in it that we were rolling on the floor over. |

Spoilers don't concern me. I have read all of the available books. The Other Half and I critique on the basis of fidelity to, at least, the feel and general direction of the story. We are comforted by G.R.R. Martin's collaboration in the screen play and production. It is understandable that a series which represents several quite large books will have to take some shortcuts. Our criticisms do pick at outright deviations, but not that severely. We really like Arya Stark's presentation, so far. We are disappointed that characters had to be aged to maintain modern proprieties regarding children and youths. In the books, Podrick Payne, Tyrion's squire, is a skinny, pimply 13-or-14-year old with a stammer, not a chunky 18-year-old. Sansa Stark is supposed to reach menarche (flower) after considerable action in King's Landing. These characters are still good, just different. The Lannisters, especially Tyrion, are outstanding. Stannis is pretty true to form. Theon is well done, at least so far. Eddard Stark also lives up to his image. That is to say, he has a board up his ass, he is so justice-obsessed and honor-bound. As in the books, his character is rather similar to that of Stannis, though even more devoted to honor. Stannis is weaker, and more desirous of power. .....and blah, blah, blah.....
