Current Status of the Cunningham Tables

I post this here to guide searchers to using the optimal B1 for their numbers they are trying to factor.

I have been corresponding with Bruce Dodson and have the following information:

1) that composites < 145 digits are ready for sieving, I assume most of these are reserved

2) that composites > 145 and < 196 should use B1=43e6 at a minimum and have about 1/3 of required number of curves done at that B1

3) that composites > 195 should use B1=11e6 at a minimum

This applies to every base, not just base 2. I have a number of other updates for individual numbers from Bruce. garo, if you contact me we can hash out the details and get all of the tables up to date.

Thanks rogue, for your post. I'm travelling over the next week so will not be able to update the tables before the 20th. But if you wish, do go ahead and send me any info you have. You can send me a PM if you like. Or you can wait till the 20th.

Since you won't be available, I can wait. It might be easier for us to communicate via SMTP as I would like to forward you Bruce's e-mails so that both of us can double-check the correctness of the updated tables. My e-mail is rogue (at) wi.rr.com. Send me an e-mail and I'll forward you his e-mails. If you have a preferred format for the tables, let me know.
