That has to do with the integrated mem controller of the K8. Are you using 1T or 2T command rate? And how many single/double sided modules per channel?

I am using 2 x 512 MB modules (double sided) - setting command rate to either 1T or 2T does not change anything I am wondering if some BIOS update would solve the problem... I have already noticed some improvement between 10.03 and 16.03 versions.

A BIOS update might help, since you have the relatively new revision E, which indeed has some improvements in the memory controller, which might in turn cause trouble with an older BIOS.

I am running Prime95 v24.11 (30-APR-2005 18:50) on a P4 machine with 1GB RAM memory. I have 48MB dedicated during the day and 512MB dedicated at night.

I came to work this morning with a Windows XP "PRIME95 Application has encountered a problem and needs to close." message.

Upon restarting Prime95, I see the following messages:
Mersenne number primality test program version 24.11
Contacting PrimeNet Server.
Updating computer information on the server.
Sending expected completion date for M26745683: Jun 24 2005
Done communicating with server.
Starting P-1 factoring with B1=320000, B2=7680000
Chance of finding a factor is an estimated 5.44%

Using FFT length 1536K
Not enough memory available to run stage 2 now.
Will try again at a later time.

Then the application crashes again.

Looking into the error report, I see the following:
