Hey, guys, I've only been doing this for a week(or 1.5 months if you count Riesel Sieve) and I have a question.
I made the comment in another thread that I thought it would be better for me to sieve instead of prping. Mystwalker advised me to ECM. I know that prime95 has an option for that(or at least, I think I know), but I don't want to start up primenet and download work that I subsequently mess up. Please advise. |

ECMing has nothing to do with Primenet, so there's nothing to screw up.
![]() I already posted the instructions needed for EMCing here. If something is still unclear, feel free to ask. The posts there also explain how to compile gmp-ecm6 on your machine (assuming you use Windows - with Linux/MacOS X, it's even easier). It's really easy - and you have to do it for maximal performance. Unfortunately, I only have binaries for Pentium4 and Pentium-M.
