Default GMP-ECM on Mandrake 10

Hi everybody!

I'm still new in the Linux world, and certainly new in the programming/compiling/linking world

I have sucessfully installed GMP and GMP-ECM on a cygwin system effortlessly, and hoped the same would be true in Mandrake 10 (Official); I soon learned that was not the case...

My machine is an AMD 64 3400+ with ASUS NForce 3 chipset, SATA Maxtor harddrive, Radeon 9800 Pro video card, and 1,5G RAM.

I unpacked GMP, ran ./configure and then make install. Afterwards I unpacked GMP-ECM, and ran make. Everything went fine intil the very last step of linking all the .o files to produce the ecm executable. Here I got an error. The compiler complained about the -lm option, and then halted.

Have anyone experienced anything similar or, better, could someone give me some help resolving this problem? I fear that I may need to install some bizarre RPM package, that I have no way of knowing about.

I've never tried compiling GMP-ECM on an AMD 64, lacking access to such a machine. Maybe we'll have to fix something. I'll send you a PM with Paul Zimmermann's and my email addresses.
