Hi everyone,
I just finished running a 2-year-long PRP for a 100 million digit prime candidate (yeah, I know!!)... unfortunately the result was composite, and the proof file generated was over 300 Megabytes in size. While it was generated, it doesn't seem to have been uploaded, possibly due to its size. Is there any way to resolve this, because no way do I want to put someone through the hassle of double-checking it in full! I took a backup of the proof file just in case prime95 decides to delete it prematurely. |

I kind of don't know what any of those are yet. Can they be derived from the proof file? As for the PRP in question, it's this one: https://www.mersenne.org/report_expo...2316077&full=1
I also have the hash values that were printed to the window while the proof was generated. Last fiddled with by CuriousKit on 2022-12-20 at 08:28 Reason: Hash values |

Normally, a proof will not get uploaded directly but after a few hours after it was generated. Please make sure to keep Prime95/mprime running, even if it has no other work to do. It should state something about the upload within 24 hours. If not, please come back to us.
It might take a really long time to upload 300 MB (of course depending on your connection speed etc.), but at least the start of the upload should have happened until then. Do not worry about what Sweety wrote, this is not applicable here (and FactorDB is a website, but it does not support numbers this large). that post was moved to the relevant thread : more off-topic in sweety's blog. No wonder I was a bit confused. Thanks for the clarity, kruoli.
I was so hoping to strike lucky (even if the odds are ridiculously low) and request the first 100 million digit prime be called the Christmas Prime, since I did complete the PRP check on the 20th of December (and I had disabled a couple of my cores so this one would complete in time!)... alas, not this time! |

In the meantime, the proof file got successfully uploaded, so someone will have a big CERT job to do soon!
