Intel has a new celeron with 256k of L2!
http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProduc...112-186&depa=1 It is kind of expensive, but im sure that intel will release slower clocked versions of this, "binned prescott." |

There are slower 2.4, 2.53, 2.66 versions. From what I have seen from other forums these CPU overclocks extremely well. Getting a 2.4 you can be quite sure of running at 3Ghz and above. These should work on all 865 platforms but not sure about the 845 chipset supports as these are Prescott cored Celeron with 256KB L2 caches.

Terrible name indeed; I wonder what the “D” stands for? Dud, Dumb, Downgraded, droll, dull… dunce? But seriously, this might actually be an intel chip i would buy if it does well in P95 and runs under $70. Does anyone have a Celeron D? Please post benchmark results; this chip looks promising.
