If you are going to run llrp4 then the mobile P4 is much faster than the Pentium M. However it generates heat and may reduce the life of the laptop.

Thanks for your help. I had to go with an Intel Celeron as that was the cheapest in the market. Let me see how much contribution I can make to the project with the new laptop.

The Celeron is just as fast as the P4. You'll zip through the PRP tests

So do I then use LLR4/PRP3 that is the best for P4's.

Yes, either LLRP4 or PRP3 is perfect.

I found in my tests that LLRP4 in the latest version creates residues that are different to the PRP3 and LLRnet residues so please use PRP3 if you can.

May be both of them use a different base? Not sure, but we should figure this out.

Does anyone know?

Just an FYI, based on the frequencies data we are supposed to find 5 primes in the range n=2^20 to 2^21 which is n from 1.05 M to 2.1 M.

Since we are at 1.35 M and about 0.75M is left to be searched we might find a prime every .15M or every 6000 test we do.

Also since we are doing ~3000 test per month, this means that we should find a prime every two months.

Lets see when and which k goes first.

My expectation was wrong - the prime came earlier. I'm not exactly sad, though.
