hello! i've been searching the web for days on how to get a gmail account...
i dint know u needed an invite

I think there isn't an exact number. They are just randomly spread!

I probably just missing something (as usual), but why go to the hassle of posting links? If someone really doesn't have a gmail account yet (I thought everybody does) they could just shoot me an e-mail at "sgeier" at the gmail address and I'd send them an invitation if I happen to have one (or an apology if not).

Why jump though the hoops and invite yourself and then cut-n-paste links and such complications?

I wouldn't want to post my email address anywhere, and I also wouldn't want to give my email address to anyone I don't know. Giving out or posting your email is really something you do if you personally feel comfortable with it.

Personally, I would feel more comfortable giving my phone number to some random person than I would giving them my email address, and I tend not to give my phone number out to random people.

That's why i ask people to PM me if they would like Gmail. It's more like a gift. I really don't spam a person :D
