I got a new Lenovo ThinkPad X301 notebook. The processor is "only" 1.4 GHz, but it should be able to put in some good factoring work.

P-1 found a factor in stage #2, B1=90000, B2=2002500.
M4527739 has a factor: 103539962292254412427075677849036449
That's 36 decimal digits, or 117 bits. Not as large as ECM sometimes finds, but it made me happy.

For those who like to know about the k in factor = 2kp+1,
k = 11433958791822409863629029616
= 2 ^ 4 x 13 x 17 x 199 x 1031 x 2843 x 6857 x 12983 x 62271103

And for bonus happiness, there were 20 factors found out of 304 P-1 tests since I set one core of my quad on low P-1 factoring a week ago.

436HP wasn't enough, so we upgraded to 505HP.

Since the color is the same we think maybe the wife will not notice.

Yesterday my wife and I closed on our new home. It's a really nice house, probably the best we looked at, and has almost everything we wanted at a great price (not to mention the low interest rates). The only (small) complaint is that the master closet isn't as large as my wife would like. I guess she will need to thin out some clothes. The kitchen is absolutely huge, which I like because both of us like to cook. While doing the home inspection, we discovered that the two neighbors to the east of us are classmates of my younger son and that two other classmates are in the subdivision. My wife is thrilled by that because there were no kids from our kids' school in the subdivision we moved from. It has helped her overcome the wickedly high property taxes.

We are racing BMX 1-2 times a week now, and training maybe 2-3 of the other days.

Too bad the car doesn't have a hitch receiver for our bike rack!

We were reading some of the car specs and we noticed that they use some form of laminated balsa wood for the floorboards!

Default Well, the year has flown by...

Right on target, the last two are scheduled to finish by the stroke of midnight Wednesday night. No primes amongst the other 22, two of which cracked under P-1 and the other 20 of which required "the full monty" a.k.a. an LL test.

Going to try to be *really* ambitious this year:

28 LL candidates - 8 will be mainstream candidates that I'll pull via manual assignment on Thursday; the other 20 comprise all of the candidates of the form 820902xx and 90282xxx (think dates...). Some of these 28 may not even make it to the LL stage - there is still several bits (from 64 and 66, respectively) of TF needed (as well as P-1) on the 82M and 90M exponents. These will be the largest exponents I have ever tested. Should be fun.

28 double-checks - I will take the first 28 candidates of the form 2828xxxx to be double-checked. This should help the DC cause, and gain me more than a few positions on the DC Producers list (a mere 3 DCs got me to the 44%ile!)

282 P-1 assignments - I will take these exponents out as I go, but the goal is to finish 282 P-1 assignments at the 60M threshold or better. I've got a couple of machines with 3 GB of RAM in mind for this...

28,282 TF assignments - Between 9/2/10 and 9/2/11, the goal is to complete a total of 28,282 TF assignments, whether they are mainstream assignments or LMH quickies (obviously, there will be more of the latter than the former). Note that this is an average of 77-78 TFs a day. I've turned in 20,000 or so this year without really trying. So this should be doable...

And, yes, the 28 theme has to do with the fact that I'm turning 28 this year. Looking forward to another year crunching with GIMPS, and here's hoping we hit M48!!

OK - yeah - thanks for letting me know about that! That will save me some TF time to be sure - when do you think the 90282xxx guys will be finished to 71?

The 820902xx candidates should more than keep me busy for a while...
