We found this historical marker out in the middle of nowhere today.

We adopted a new bike right at the end of 2015.

So far January has been unseasonably warm. We have racked up 1,300 miles on it already! (It was 73°F today!)

We are averaging ~120 miles a day. (We have 6 states and 101 counties so far in 2016.)

I don't live close to RDS, if I did, I would hope that my donations would help him if he needs them.
I should have just hit 300 units today. Also in today were a gent with over 700 units and another with 550-600.

In the last year or so, the ARC has been sending e-mails to platelet donors telling them where some of their units have gone (and if they have been sent to a hospital it was used and not just waiting). I have seen at least 6 different hospitals where I know people that work there (family, friends, ex-neighbors, etc.). Also, I have found out that at times that one of my units has been pre-designated for a recipient before I arrive (they know that I am coming in and there is a person in need that is a match.) The person is in a major metro area ~2 hours away. Have seen units that went to hospitals 4 or more hours away. About 2 months ago, I got an e-mail informing me that a unit was sent 1/4 of the way around the globe (over 6,000 miles.) My eyes nearly popped out of my head. Seeing all of these is very gratifying, it helps to know that they are really being used.
