On the stacked books (which are on the floor, now)?
The arm in the noose protects one carotid and the windpipe at least to some extent..

Hm... then why is it called tri-angle? It should be called trivertex...

(old, intranslatable Romanian joke, let's see if I can translate it, it will sound different due to different names we use for objects, it can be "forced" to English, but of course the meaning will be different: you throw a ball down on the floor, and it jumps two times, before going lost: BAM-BAM. You find it and throw it again, and it jumps again two times: BAM, BAM... Why? Because if it would jump three times, it would have been called a troll )

Not necessarily.

Consider software download into several substrates on which to run it. Said downloads could be concurrent or consecutive or both.

Each download would have identical memories and experiences up until the point(s) of upload.

I'll buy the arm even though it's drawn too far back in the cartoon - he is turning his head. But, the books would have to be a lot thicker.

You are right. He would have strangled in that position. I was grasping at straws. Maybe he used the books to get to the chair back, though balancing there would be questionable. Standing on the chair back while tying the rope to the chandelier would seem impossible, both for reach and for balance.

What morbid verbal contortions!

These people have all kind of ideas and skills...

How about he was balancing the chair on 2 legs (or even only one) like the equillibrists at the circus?
